Orquestra Energia Fundação EDP

Orquestra Energia Fundação EDP, a new project artistically and pedagogically directed by Casa da Música is performing for the first time at Sala Suggia. Composed of young people and children from three locations in the north of the country – Amarante, Mirandela and Murça – the main purpose of Orquestra Energia Fundação EDP is to achieve social inclusion through music. The programme includes the world premieres of works written especially for the three ensembles by composers who have strong connections with Casa da Música: José Alberto Gomes, Óscar Rodrigues and Nuno Peixoto de Pinho. This concert features the musical direction of José Eduardo Gomes, principal conductor of Orquestra Clássica da FEUP and Coro do Círculo Portuense de Ópera, a conductor that has accomplished a valuable work ahead of young formations.
